Automated payments have arrived! We at

service possible. For those interested please click on link: Automated

It has been
recently brought to our attention that in some neighborhoods poor cart
placement has made it difficult for the visually impaired. Please be
aware of those needs in your neighborhood, and don't block sidewalks.
Try to place your carts in a place that is the least obstructive to
pedestrian and traffic flow and so that it is accessible by our trucks.
While we are talking about cart placement, I would like to address an
ongoing issue we have had in some areas regarding parked vehicles.
Parking head in on a cul-de-sac makes it very difficult for our tricks
to turn around. It is also a city code violation which could subject
the illegally parked vehicle to being towed. Please place carts or
other objects far enough from parked vehicles to allow automated pickup
without the danger of damage to property. Remember, our drivers are
human and the more often they face difficult situations the higher the
risk of an accident. Top
Did you know that your
garbage driver is another set of eyes watching out for your
neighborhood? We have been involved with the sheriff's office for quite
some time now on our County Watch program. Whenever one of our drivers
sees a problem, or notices something unusual, he calls it in and the
appropriate party is notified. We have made thousands of calls
countywide over the past few years for things ranging from stray dogs
to house fires and burglaries. Top
Thank you for your
continued support of our recycling programs. We have been able to help
the county meet and exceed its state mandated recycling goals. We are
monitoring contamination on an ongoing basis. Please help us keep the
system intact by only placing those items in the recycling carts that
are allowed. Do not bag yard debris; remember if it grows it goes.
Styrofoam and plastic bags are a continual problem for us in the mixed
recycling cart. At this time the Salem-Keizer Transfer
Station is taking plastic bags. The county is periodically
collecting Styrofoam at locations and times made known in their
publication. Please don't put those items in your blue cart. Glass is
also a problem. It does NOT go in the blue cart either. Remember,
glass, motor oil, latex paint and drycell batteries go in the red
basket. To see our recycling brochure click on:
